This Monitor stand's joints are set tight,this design is for holding the monitor stably and not falling down,we suggest customer adjust the angle first before install the monitor,or one hand holding base and one hand do the adjustment in the same time.
This is a great stand for my second monitor. It has a small footprint and is very solid. I needed a stand like this to bring my monitor down low to my desk and also be adjustable.
I almost took a star off as it is extremely stiff at the adjustment points and there is no way to loosen them. It is a bit of a pain to get it set to where you want it but once there it is very sturdy. You just have to be careful not to use your monitor to adjust the stand so as to avoid damaging the screen.

I picked up a very small used LCD monitor at a thrift store, and needed a way to mount it portrait style to use as a second monitor for keeping a legal research website open on my left while I work on my right. I needed a really low profile stand with a very small base. This was perfect. Study the measurements before ordering -- the distance from the base to the bottom of the mount's screw holes is about the span of an open palm (thumb to pinky).
